Since March 2022, Dr. Sheena Vaswani has been honored to serve patients in her hometown of Los Altos. Since dental school, it has been a dream of hers to own a practice in the town where she grew up. After marrying a dentist, she extended that vision to include her husband (also a general dentist) within the practice. As of June 2022, after bringing her husband to the team at Los Altos Family Smiles, she can now finally say that her dream has been realized!

In 1984, Dr. Kevin Sawyer took over the practice from Dr. E.C. "Charlie" Watkins, who started the practice in 1952. Dr. Watkins was a pioneer in dentistry and a well-respected member of the faculty at the University of California at San Francisco, and Dr. Sawyer personally studied under him. Over the years, the practice has grown and added some fantastic staff members. In 1986, Dr. Sawyer brought on his first full-time hygienist. Today, we have six hygienists as a part of the practice and continue to grow our services.

Over the last 30 years, Dr. Sawyer has prided himself on building relationships with the families he has served over the last few decades and has been a popular member of the Los Altos community. He has always promised "I treat people as I would hope to be treated myself, and treat everyone as if they were a member of my own family. Los Altos has a great small-town feel, where friends and relationships are made. Los Altos offers all the convenience of modern life, but it's also a close-knit community. We always strive to find the fairest and most practical solution to meet every patient's personal needs."

After meeting Dr. Sawyer last year, Dr. Vaswani knew that his practice would be a great home for her to continue caring for families since he was so personable himself. She knew immediately after the first time meeting him that he was someone who took time and care to build his personal relationships, which was important to her as well.

It is Dr. Vaswani's goal for Dr. Kevin Sawyer's legacy to continue caring for patients in the same personal manner while including a touch of the latest technology to give patients the best experience possible. She strives to provide exceptional care, service, and devotion to patients. She looks forward to meeting you all and getting to know you and helping you with your dental needs.
